Like
all great ideas, it started with a dream.
In 1997, the Village of East Rochester, NY was planning
a centennial celebration and wanted residents young
and old to share in the celebration. Band founders
John Alfieri and Rich Herb attended a planning meeting
and together thought it would be great to assemble
all the musical talent from the village for one night!
The initial band meeting attracted many working and
closet musicians. They all shared in their love for
music. The debut of the East Rochester All-Stars attracted
some 10,000 residents and old friends to witness what
was to be the beginning of something great. Best of
all, it was fun!
Now, ten years later, the original core group remains.
The East Rochester All-Star Band has evolved into
a premiere show band entertaining
Western and Central New Yorkers at festivals, corporate
parties, weddings, and some of your favorite taverns.
Their clients have graciously recognized the band's
ability to provide entertainment for all ages including
audience participation with that Mardi Gras feeling.
The All-Stars are not only great musicians,
they have supported and opened for many of the best.
They have
been the opening act for;
South Johnnie and the Azbury Jukes
Average White Band
Randy Bachman
Derek Trucks Band
Tommy Rowe
(Making me Dizzy)
and supported;
Trumpet Great- Lou Soloff (Blood Sweat and Tears)
Trumpet great - Jeff Jarvis
The All-Stars features a wide range of musical
styles. Known for its powerful horn section,
the group makes the sounds of Chicago, Blood Sweat
and Tears and Motown pulsate the dance floor. Powerful
vocals and melodic harmonies will have you singing
along to many of your favorite tunes. With the combined
talents of local music educators, seasoned musicians,
and a can-do spirit, the East Rochester All-Stars
can accommodate any venue!
In 1997, We assembled many great musicians, friends and family for what was supposed to be a one night "All-Star" gathering. The night was truly magical and amazingly enough continued on for 12 years.
After over 300 jobs, 10,000+ miles, great venues and many new friends, The East Rochester All-Stars have decided to call it a day.
We would like to thank all our families, friends, fans, fellow musicians and promoters for over 12 years of great memories!!!
